The Club was established by a group of Ōakura surfcasters in October 2005 and incorporated into the Ōakura Surfcasting Club. The Taranaki Kayak Fishing Club became a standalone club in 2009. The club was the first in NZ to embrace kayakers and allow them to participate as legitimate sport fishers. We are fortunate enough to be based on one of the best NZ locations for kayak fishing.
Our aim is to encourage a social and fun fishing club for kayak fishers. We want to promote kayak fishing in a positive way whilst always being safe and looking after each other.
